  • NPA Relief Status – Indicates the status of relief planning efforts for the specified NPA code. Appropriate entries include "active" (relief planning is underway), "suspended" (relief planning efforts have been put on hold) and "postponed" (relief efforts have been delayed to some specified time in the future). If blank, there is no active relief planning underway in the NPA. For NPAs included in an overlay complex, the NPA Relief Status will be the same for all NPAs.
  • In-service date – This is the date an NPA code is considered to be effective. For an NPA overlay, this is the date identified in the planning letter that states when a central office code from the new NPA can be effective. For an NPA split, this is the date permissive dialing of the new NPA begins.
  • Planning Letter(s) - Identifies the NANPA Planning Letter(s) that addresses the planning and implementation of the specified NPA code.
  • Time Zone – A region of the NANP with a uniform standard time, usually referred to as the local time. In the US: "E" is Eastern Time Zone, "C" is Central Time Zone, "M" is Mountain Time Zone, and "P" is Pacific Time Zone. Occasionally, an NPA will fall in more than one time zone. In this case, the abbreviation is a combination of the previous abbreviations. Some NPAs are shown with time zones referencing Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).
  • Parent NPA – The original single geographic NPA from which this NPA was "born", either by split or overlay.
  • Overlay Complex – The combination of two or more area codes to provide resources to the same geographic area.
  • Jeopardy – A jeopardy condition exists when the forecasted and/or actual demand for NXX resources will exceed the known supply during the planning/implementation interval for relief.
  • Relief Planning in Progress – The status will display "Yes" when the notice concerning the pre-IPD and relief planning meeting is distributed. The status will change to a “No” on the in-service date for an NPA overlay and the end of recorded announcement for an NPA split. For NPAs included in an overlay complex, the Relief Planning in Progress indicator will be the same for all the NPAs.
  • Dialing Plan – “Standard” refers to the general dialing plan within an NPA. There can be exceptions based on unique local conditions. "Permissive" refers to the dialing plan that may be used for dialing. It can be service-provider specific or ordered by the appropriate regulatory body.
